Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s old video has resurfaced the internet where he is seen addressing an old man as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan found himself in the midst of controversy when a video of him hitting and abusing a staff member went viral on social media. In the video, he is seen beating up his staff for misplacing his bottle. Despite sharing a clarification video along with the victim, the netizens continue to lash out at him for assaulting a person. Now, amid the ongoing controversy, an old video of Khan has resurfaced online, where he can be seen addressing an old man as ‘Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’.
In the video, shared by the netizens, the 49-year-old singer can be seen sporting a moustache and wearing a black shirt and shorts. As he interacts with people in the video, he is seen slurring his words while taking the support of an old man to stand. Pointing towards the old man, he is heard saying, “Mera Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Isse koi bhide mat... meri jana hain, hum ek hain.” For those who don’t know, Rahat is the nephew of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Talking about the recent viral video where he was seen hitting and slapping his protege Naveed Hasnain, the Teri Ore singer recently took to his official social media handles to explain what had happened. In one of his videos, he was heard saying, “Whatever you have seen in these videos is about an internal matter between an ustaad (master) and a shagird (protege). When a protege does a good job, we shower a lot of them and when they make a mistake, we punish them as well... I had apologised to him at the same time.” The Pakistani singer went on to explain how the person who shot and published the video was attempting to tarnish his image.
